SONG: Happy New Year! No matter what your year was like last year, this is a new one. So much is ahead. This song is my personal anthem for 2017. It’s a big job for a song, but Come Alive (Dry Bones) has it all. The hopes and desires of my heart are outlined in its lyrics and the victorious power of God is displayed. I anticipate great things for this year and I have an ambitious list. Victories, breakthroughs, restorations – He is able to do it all. Listen, pray, and anticipate victory my friends.

SCRIPTURE: One of my favorite passages in the bible is the account of Ezekiel being led to a valley of dry bones by the Lord. In chapter 37, the incredible account unfolds. I don’t usually share such a lengthy passage, but those dead, dry bones represent so much in our lives. Our dreams, relationships, finances, jobs, health concerns – everything that may seem broken and hopeless is not beyond the Lord’s reach. Read and be encouraged.
The Lord took hold of me, and I was carried away by the Spirit of the Lord to a valley filled with bones. He led me all around among the bones that covered the valley floor. They were scattered everywhere across the ground and were completely dried out. Then he asked me, “Son of man, can these bones become living people again?”
“O Sovereign Lord,” I replied, “you alone know the answer to that.”
Then he said to me, “Speak a prophetic message to these bones and say, ‘Dry bones, listen to the word of the Lord! This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Look! I am going to put breath into you and make you live again! I will put flesh and muscles on you and cover you with skin. I will put breath into you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.’”
So I spoke this message, just as he told me. Suddenly as I spoke, there was a rattling noise all across the valley. The bones of each body came together and attached themselves as complete skeletons. Then as I watched, muscles and flesh formed over the bones. Then skin formed to cover their bodies, but they still had no breath in them.
Then he said to me, “Speak a prophetic message to the winds, son of man. Speak a prophetic message and say, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come, O breath, from the four winds! Breathe into these dead bodies so they may live again.’”
So I spoke the message as he commanded me, and breath came into their bodies. They all came to life and stood up on their feet—a great army. –Ezekiel 37:1-10
May this be the year of the breakthroughs you are looking for. He can bring what seems dead to life, mend what seems irreparable and provide where it seems impossible. But notice, the speaker follows the Lord’s command. He heeds the call and the power is unleashed. When we follow the Lord’s call on our hearts, all things are possible. Believe!
PRAYER: Lord Jesus, You allow me to walk in victory even when I feel defeated. I cry out to dry bones in my life in Your name and trust You to bring them to life. I lay 2017 at your feet. Heal all that is unwell in me and my relationships. Increase my influence and provide what I need. Draw my loved ones who do not know You to Yourself. Make me keenly aware of the plans You have for me and help me to answer Your call on my life. I believe You are not only willing, but able. I praise You in the waiting and in the victory. In Your Name I pray, AMEN.

Tracy, this is such a beautiful piece from your heart for the new year! He is able to do it all (and then somehow go ahead and do even more)! The Lord is quite magnanimous, as I have been thinking on Him and this particular part of His character lately. Ezekiel 37 is an incredible display of the Lord’s power and ability. Just this morning, I was soaking on Ezekiel 36: 25-27, “I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put My Spirit in you and move you to follow My decrees and be careful to keep My laws.” Another promise that victory and breakthrough can become ours, when our hearts are turned to the Lord and following His commands. Anticipating victory with you!
Thanks so much. God is good and He can resurrect anything!
