Second Sunday Song: Christ the Rock

SONG: Oh boy. The Lord has really been challenging me lately. This song captures so much of what is going on in my heart and mind. Frankly, the lyrics speak for themselves. Please listen to this song as you consider Him, His greatness, His mercy, His love. He is all we need. Choose to stand, plant your feet, chase your dreams and make your plans with Him in mind.  He is HOLY.

On Christ the solid rock I stand
No double minded shifting sands

On Christ the rock I plant my feet
A firm foundation for me

On Christ the rock I place my heart
And trust in who You say You are

No circumstance that blows my way
Will never move this solid place

Holy [x4]

On Christ the solid rock I stand
Leaving behind the fear of man

With Christ the truth I will agree
Forsaking lies that come for me

Holy [x4]

On Christ the rock I lay my dreams
Come with Your fire consuming me

With Christ the rock I make my plans
Partner with Your purposes

Holy [x15]

You are Holy Oh God yea

On Christ the solid rock I stand

SCRIPTURE: Building our lives and dreams on a firm foundation means we shall not be shaken. Though the storms of life rage and times of uncertainty rail against us, the foundation will remain. Christ is that Rock. When our footing is firm, we can reach out to steady others who need it. Circumstances may be changeable, but our God is not. He is steadfast and trustworthy. We need to be single-minded, surrendering all to Him, the Rock.

For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence,
for my hope is from him.
He only is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall not be shaken.
On God rests my salvation and my glory;
my mighty rock, my refuge is God.

Psalm 62:6-8 (ESV)

PRAYER: Loving Father, THANK YOU for Christ the Rock, the steadfast one on whom I can cast my fears. I know You are faithful and true. Even when I doubt, or feel afraid, I know that You are able to sustain me. When I feel like I am “not enough”, you remind me that You are enough. Please give me faith to trust you, no matter what is going on in my life. You are constant and I believe You are for me and with me in all things. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN.
